bike and build is awesome! The past few days have been incredible. So far we have biked just over 100 miles and had two build days. Charlestonn was beautiful but it was great to dip our wheels in the atlantic and hit the road. Yesterday was my longest ride ever at 70 miles. The people we have met have been so generous and kind. Every night has been a feast of epic proportions. Currently we are in sumter, sc and just finished a build day. Tomorrow, after we wake up at 6 am and eat breakfast, we hit the road for an "easy" 50 miles to columbia, sc. That's all for now as I'm getting irritated with the tiny keyboard on this tablet!

First update in a loong time. I am currently sitting in a hotel with Allison and my parents, bike and build starts in 4.5 hours. Thank you to all who made this possible! I will hopefully be updating this at least every week. Thank you to my parents for providing me with this tablet to keep in touch, love you guys!
The next couple days will be an orientation followed by our first build day. On Sunday we actually depart charleston for our first ride. Until then I am really excited to meet my new b&b family.
Thank you again to all who made this possible, love you all!

Progress!
I am at $680! Pretty excited I made the first deadline, also excited to be that much closer to getting my bike. Considering what the weather has been like in Michigan the past few weeks (aside from today) I could have been training outside with a bike.
I'm also starting to pick up my training a bit, my body certainly feels like it. My plan for the next bit is 3 days of spin class a week, with strength on the 2 days in between, especially focusing on abs and legs. The other 2 days of the week I will likely spend doing some other cardio. My body is taking a toll trying to get used to exercise again, but as I like to say, It hurts so good! Nothing feels better than knowing your body is getting stronger.
I have also started purchasing gear. Thus far I have obtained socks, bike multitool, bike computer, headlight, and my favorite, some Gore Bibs. Tonight during spin class I got to try out the Bibs and it was amazing. It certainly made sitting on a bike much more comfortable, however I will have to get used to the goofy short spandex look.
Overall, all is going well! The next few weeks will consist of mailing letters and more training, along with a pasta dinner fundraiser in February.
